THIRUVANATHAPURAM: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan should make his stand clear on the Supreme Court's rejection of CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan's writ petition pertaining to the SNCLavalin case, BJP state president V Muraleedharan said on Thursday.
Talking to reporters here, Muraleedharan said that the Supreme Court decision had vindicated Governor R S Gavai's stand that Pinarayi Vijayan should be prosecuted. Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan was against the party secretary going to court against the Governor's decision.
Since the petition has been rejected, the people of Kerala would like to know the Chief Minister's opinion on the issue, Muraleedharan said. The BJP state president demanded a Vigilance investigation into the charges of corruption levelled against Opposition Leader Oommen Chandy by former minister K K Ramachandran the other day.
"Ramachandran has told a press conference that he was ousted from the post of minister as he did not collude with those who indulged in corruption at the Travancore Titanium Products. Ramachandran should be ready to hand over evidence regarding his allegations to the officials concerned," Muraleedharan said.
"Ramachandran also said that many Congressmen cornered seats by paying money. If Ramachandran is not ready to give out more details, the Election Commission should take action," he said. Muraleedharan also welcomed the SC verdict banning the supply of rice at Rs 2 per kg.
The CPM has come out with allegations against the BJP in Manjeswaram and Kasargod as it had scented defeat in both constituencies, Muraleedharan said.
